Past Event: Cider ‘n Cheese: Exploring Two Local Products

Have you enjoyed locally produced cider? Locally produced cheese? Join Slow Food Corvallis at 2 Towns Ciderhouse for an evening’s exploration of these two delicious products.

Our evening will begin with Adam Cocker, Specialty and New Product Development Cidermaker at 2 Towns, who will give us an inside look at the history of the company, discuss how they source their ingredients and how cider is made, topped off with a tasting of the final product. There will also be an opportunity to see the production room where small specialty batches of cider are made.

We’ll also welcome Mariano Battro of La Mariposa cheese. Mariano, native of Argentina, will explain how he makes his different cheeses and lead us through a tasting of several varieties including some made with raw milk. Do you think you will be able to taste the difference between a raw-milk cheese and a pasteurized-milk cheese?

Both 2 Towns and La Mariposa will have their products available for purchase.
