Hello Slow Foodies,

We were shocked to see that no Oregon food producers were on the national map showing the awardees of Slow Food’s Snail of Approval, so let’s change that. Slow Food Corvallis has just entered an agreement to work with the national office to give this recognition to our wonderful farms, food and drink producers, restaurants, and vendors.

The process begins with your nomination. All nominees will be evaluated on their commitment to:

  • Sourcing

  • Environmental impact

  • Cultural connection

  • Community involvement

  • Staff support

  • Business values

To assess their commitment, all nominees will be contacted to fill out Slow Food USA’s eligibility form. The results will come back to us and successful applicants will be awarded at our annual potluck and recognized on Slow Food USA's Snail of Approval map.
